Allergies

There are all sorts of triggers that can set off one’s immune system. The body reacts by releasing histamines – causing sneezing, itching, redness, and inflammation. Allergies are ubiquitous now-a-days. The most recent data shows that 40% of dogs suffer from some sort of allergy. If you or your dog experience them you know they are life altering. They cause discomfort, exhaustion, misery and pain. They disrupt every moment and impede rest and relaxation. Relief typically comes in the form of a prescription but there are other options.

I can tell you one thing that separates dogs that struggle with allergies and those that don’t is LIFESTYLE. That is what sets dogs apart. Those that are on a fermented raw, species appropriate diet, have a healthy gut microbiome, forgo vaccines, and live in an environment that is free of toxins rarely experience allergies. They rarely experience ear, skin, coat and intestinal problems, too!

The things that cause an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity could really be anything. Poor food, vaccines, toxins in and on a dog, environment, moisture, medicines or parasites. There are effective solutions to consider and implement to reduce the likelihood that your dog will suffer unnecessarily: Pure Canine Appropriate Fermented Raw Food, Stop Vaccinating, Reassess Environment.

Often times dogs are treated and medicated for allergies when it’s really a behavioral issue. Licking and chewing may very well stem out of boredom and or self-soothing learned behavior. Occupy your dog’s mind and integrate daily leash walks.

Stress is another missed culprit in allergies. It weakens a dog’s immune system leaving them susceptible to pathogens. Each and every day assess and reassess that your dog is not dealing with any type of stress. Examples include but not limited to: isolation, punitive training, unreasonable expectations, insufficient stimulation, arguing among housemates and/or grief.

Allergies, environmental and/or food can be painful; and at the very least extremely uncomfortable.

Quercetin is nature’s Benadryl. It’s a flavonoid found in fruits and veggies. It manages the release of histamines. It also has anti-cancer effects! Dosing 5-10 mg / dog’s body weight.

Most dogs are prone to experiencing allergic symptoms on their ears, belly and paws. Below are some helpful tips to help manage them without the use of harsh chemicals. Be patient – they really DO work!
